We are nearing the end of summer vacation but the days are still hot and humid here in Houston, Texas. My girls are a bit excited about school starting next week and have so much energy to burn off that I sent them outside to play in the sprinkler. Our German Shepard, Loki, was pretty good about staying out of it for a while, but I relented and let her go play finally.

She is such a beautiful dog and we love her even if she is all beauty and no brains.

Why do I keep her out of the fun for so long? Because she is ridiculous about attacking the water and has no regard for the girls when she gets this way. Snapping, biting, and jumping at the water she tends to knock over the girls. She looks a bit vicious when she acts this way. I can see why people would be frightened of German Shepard Dogs. But then she looks at the water like she's not so sure of it and she just looks silly…especially with her precious ball in her mouth.

The best is when she shakes all that water off and the girls laughter fills the air. I will be sad when summer ends.

What a great way to cool down! I love the ones of your pup shaking off the water!
Looks like Loki was having more fun than the girls. I do miss the days of running through the sprinklers. Here in the desert we have no grass, so it would be more like slip sliding through the mud. And watch out for that cactus! LOL
So fun! I too will be sad when summer ends, I LOVE fall but don't look forward to winter.
So cute!!!
Awww, what a sweet doggie!!!!! Your girls are pretty adorable, too!
