• Aloha Y’all!

Aloha and welcome to my blog! This is where I share all the recent goings on at TGP along with occasional personal posts. You will get to know me, my family and clients through the years.
As you look through the galleries, you will see that my style is relaxed with an emphasis on "Finding Life's Natural Beauty." Whether bringing home your newborn or you are getting ready to graduate High School, I love to show who a person is on that given day, especially those newborns and seniors who change so fast. We only have so many days on this earth and each day is precious. I like to save those memories for my clients.

Before and After Monday — Richmond Portrait Photographer

We are finally MOSTLY settled in our new home in Richmond (in the Houston Metroplex), Texas!  There are still quite a few pictures to hang, odds and ends to find new homes, and places to find but it has become home.  The dog loves the backyard where she can run and chase her ball to her heart's content.  The girls have made new friends, settled in to their routines and started their respective gymnastics and horseback riding lessons up again.  We even got registered for school in the fall!  So now I can get back to my regularly scheduled blogging routine, as well.

It is Before and After Monday, where I show you a Straight Out Of Camera image (SOOC) and the finished product.  Today's picture is of my older daughter who is turning 7 on Saturday and her absolute favorite pastime…reading.  She is now on the fourth book of the Harry Potter series!  But I digress…

The SOOC image is pretty good to begin with so all I really did to this one is open up RadLab (banner at side and bottom of post) and run my altered California Street recipe, flattened, ran Dirty Pictures (also from Totally Rad) and masked off her skin, flattened, and ran a slight unsharp mask on the final image.  Voila, done!

I love when images only take about 2-5 minutes to post process.  Remember, getting the image right in camera will really cut down on the time you run them through the editing process!  I hope to have more 7 year old pictures of her to share with you next week!

The SOOC is great and nice edit!  I also love when it only takes a few minutes to edit.  Shooting is definitely the better part of the job!  🙂

I like the simple yet powering retouching! Don't you love it when your kids enjoy reading? – such a great 'hobby' for them =)
