Fix -it Friday
Posted on May 2, 2009
Every Friday on I ♥ Faces Blog, they post a picture for people to play with. This is my take on the picture.
Before:
After:
First, I took the original into Adobe Camera Raw and adjusted for exposure, recovery, fill and fixed some noise issues. Then I imported it into CS3 and used MCP Action A Bit Light and Darkness to bring out his face and hands a bit and darken the background. I then used the patch tool to fix the bright spot on his right cheek. Then I used MCP Action Color Burst to pop the color and erased back any skin. I then used MCP Eye Doctor to bring out his eyes just a touch. Cropped for rule of thirds and sharpened. Tada!
Now, go check out how others fixed it up!

ETA: Just read Jodi’s fix from MCP Actions Blog! Now it looks like I pretty much copied her fix! Yikes! Sorry, Jodi, I really did this before I saw yours! Yours looks better, too.

Wow, that is seriously impressive! Great work!
This looks great!
I love what others do, I have some of those actions, I didnt even know that they did THAT stuff…now I will have to try them out.
Thanks!
Your fix is perfect! The colors are warmed up, the shadow and sunspot is gone and the bold colors just really makes this fix-it great!
I am trying to email you in regards to the PT4P Blogroll. Will you please email me at kimschmidtphotography at gmail.com and I’ll get you the information to update it. You have until May 5th to get it updated or you’ll be removed from the next update.
